How We Do It
Community
Embodying the best practices and standards of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, MPR heavily relies upon the social-experiential model of recovery. This non-authoritarian approach offers our residents opportunities to develop life skills, find comfort in who they are and form meaningful relationships that will support their transition into long-term recovery.
Connection
Above all things, we believe in a person centered approach. To respect everyone's specific needs, our primary goal is to form a meaningful relationship with each of our residents from day one. After we have an understanding of who they are and who they would like to become, we can support them in building a recovery plan that works for them. Individual recovery coaching, daily mindfulness practices and monthly nature excursions are just a few of the ways we build relationships with our residents, and create opportunities for them to make the most important connection - the one with themselves.
Comfort
The first thing most ask about our organization is, "What services do you offer?" While we are proud of our scheduled offerings, the most important service we have is the home itself. At the end of addiction, we've found that most individuals resonate more with feelings of uselessness than self-worth. We believe having a home our residents are proud to live in is one of the most important things we can provide. Just in case our sprawling abode with 6 bedrooms, 5 & 1/2 baths, a rooftop deck and home garden wasn't enough, we also chose to feature full-sized memory foam mattresses, bamboo sheets, a grind-to-order espresso machine. These are just a few of the small efforts we've made to make our up-scale residence as cozy as possible.
